    • Ecofont - Free font based on Bitstream Vera sans-serif containing little holes designed to reduce ink consumption when printing.
    • GIMP - GNU Image Manipulation Program. Free image editor with many Photoshop-like tools. Can perform such tasks as photo retouching, image composition, and image authoring.. It can be used as a simple paint program, an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, an image format converter, etc. For UNIX, Windows and Mac OS X.
    • LibreOffice - A power-packed free, libre and open source personal productivity suite for Windows, Macintosh and GNU/Linux, that gives you six feature-rich applications for all your document production and data processing needs: Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Math and Base.
    • Lynda.com - Software training - online-tutorials for Adobe, Microsoft, Apple & more.

    • OpenOffice - Free productivity / office software suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more. It can be downloaded and used completely free of charge for any purpose.

      • EASEUS Todo Backup - Free back-up software, does cloning and system images, too.
      • Everything Search Tool - Windows file and folder search tool. Free, Very fast.
      • Macrium Reflect Free - Free system image creation and recovery tool. Can also make a bootable rescue disk.
      • PagePlus Starter Edition - Free desktop publishing/layout program that offers a wide range of features at an excellent price: free. It meets many expectations for high-quality software, including the ability to intuitively perform some complex tasks.
      • Revo Uninstaller - Free uninstall utility. There's alos a paid, Pro version. It is not just an uninstall program it also includes other tools and features that will help you to clean your Windows based computer system
      • Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) - Stay secure by patching and updating insecure programs. Secunia PSI is a security scanner which identifies programs that are insecure and need updates. It even automates the updating of many of these programs, making it a lot easier to maintain a secure PC.
      • Total Uninstall - $30, but 30-day trila version available. Completely remoces unwanted programs, leaving no remnanat behind.

      • Active@ Kill Disk - Hard Drive Eraser - Free. powerful and compact software that allows you to destroy all data on hard and floppy drives completely, excluding any possibility of future recovery of deleted files and folders. It's a hard drive and partition eraser utility.
      • BCWipe - Prevent deleted files from being restored by someone else. Delete files forever. Use military-grade procedures to surgically remove all traces of any file.
      • CCleaner - see the Drive Wiper feature - Free. Wipe the free areas of your hard disk so that deleted files can never be recovered.

        • DoPDF - Free PDF converter - converts any printable document to a PDF document.
        • PDF to Word Converter - Free. Quickly and easily create editable DOC/RTF files from PDF files.

      • PDF Creators:
        • PrimoPDF - Free. This program is a printer driver that creates PDF files from your documents, rather than printing them to paper. After install, whenever you choose the print option from an application, PrimoPDF will be listed along with your physical printers, print to file, etc. It's extremely easy to use and produces excellent PDFs--without the watermarks that some programs add.

Iincredibly lightweight and allows the viewing multiple types of documents, such as PDF, Postscript, djvu, tiff, dvi, XPS, SyncTex (support with gedit), and comics books (cbr,cbz,cb7 and cbt). View PDFs, view thumbnails, search, view document indexes, print documents, and encrypted document viewing.
        • FoxIt PDF Reader — Free. Allows you to open, view, and print any PDF file.
        • Nuance PDF Reader – Free. Convert PDF files to Word, Excel, and RTF (via a hosted web service); use annotation tools (highlight, cross-out, and underline text); fill out and save PDF forms; read virtually any PDF file (including PDF portfolios); print with comments; search; view embedded movies; verify signed documents.
        • SlimPDF — Free. For anyone looking to replace Adobe Reader with a lightning fast application that uses little in the way of resources. They also offer a plugin (not free) to enable the conversion of PDFs to .doc, .xls, and .ppt files.
        • Sumatra PDF — Free. This is a PDF, ePub, MOBI, CHM, XPS, DjVu, CBZ, CBR reader for Windows
